I'm hoping you find this on your 13th birthday. That would be a big whoopee!
I just wanted you to know, that it's ok if your friends can't make it to your birthday party right away, they do show up. it's nothing to freak out about.
So please put the knife away, it's no use chopping up potatoes out of anger and rage. All it ever does is get you the reputation that you "killed Mr. potato head"
It may sound funny now, but in a few years, it's gonna get quite old, and some may think you are dangerous.
Also, you should know, that this year will be a year to grow and learn things, a year to make friends, and to start coming out of that shell you have placed yourself in. Yes life is hard, and school sucks, but you make it just fine.
This is the time to also know that you will be a woman soon, sooner than your genes would have you believe, and so now is the time to play to your hearts content.
Spend as many hours on the tire swing, and out in the home made forts that you can. Enjoy your friends Mandy and Julie, for things will change soon.
And soon the tire swing will be gone.
You will learn later in life the concept of "the butterfly effect" and when you learn this, you will know why my letter has been soo vague. I can't tell you too many things, for if I do, your whole future could change.
What I can tell you is that just like your church says, "God has a purpose for everything", life does too. You meet some really great people this year, and they are very important to your life. When you go to the youth group swimming party in a few weeks, look out for a group of girls that are blonde. Amazingly, these are the exact friends for you... for now.
As for school, well it doesn't get much better, and the "love of your life" Colin, from 4th grade? He comes back into your life. But don't let him in too far, he only hurts you again. But don't fret it, he contacts you years later, apologizes and reveals he is miserable. Payback is a bitch!
In a few years, you will be headed in a different direction with your life, and although it isn't all that pretty it is a must. Notice the new people in your neighborhood, and make friends. it is important that you meet them, and learn how to make snickerdoodle cookies. This is the start of a very important relationship. Go with it. I can't say much more. This is where I must leave you. Now go enjoy your cake!
Your life is filled with ups and downs, but knowing these few things might make it soo much easier.
