The Space Race Strikes Back?

I believe that if we have any intention of going back to the moon or venturing off this god forsaken rock to other planets such as Mars, then we need to get back to the basics of what fueled the good ol' days of the Mercury, Gemini and Apollo space exploration programs.

We need another space race... and, according to this CNN article, it looks like we just might have it!

WOO HOO!!! USA! USA! USA!

Yeah and Bush seems to love the Space stuff too.

It will be interesting when we go to the moon, if you stuff is still up there.

During the Apollo 12 mission, Astronauts Conrad and Bean removed pieces of the Surveyor 3, to be taken back to Earth for analysis.

Surveyor 3 was the third lander of the Surveyor program that explored the Moon. Launched on April 17, 1967, Surveyor 3 landed April 20, 1967 at the Mare Cognitium portion of the Oceanus Procellarum. A total of 6,315 images were transmitted to Earth.

My guess is that they will do something similar to this with the Apollo landing sites.
